Nepal

Nepal boasts breathtaking landscapes, ancient temples, and world-famous trekking routes

Nepal, a land of stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, is a paradise for travelers seeking adventure and spiritual experiences. Nestled in the heart of the Himalayas, Nepal is home to eight of the world’s ten highest peaks, including the iconic Mount Everest. Trekking enthusiasts flock to Nepal to explore the legendary trails of the Everest Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, and Langtang Valley, each offering breathtaking views, challenging terrains, and a chance to immerse in the vibrant local culture. Beyond trekking, Nepal’s diverse landscapes provide opportunities for activities like paragliding in Pokhara, white-water rafting on the Trishuli River, and wildlife safaris in Chitwan National Park, where visitors can spot rhinos, tigers, and elephants.

Planning a Nepal Journey

Nepal works best when you think of it as several different journeys in one country: Kathmandu Valley for historic temples, Buddhist stupas and living Newar culture; Pokhara and the Annapurna foothills for gentler mountain scenery; Everest, Langtang, Mardi Himal and Mustang for trekking; and sacred places such as Boudhanath, Namo Buddha and Lumbini for pilgrimage. Most first-time travelers begin in Kathmandu, add a short cultural circuit, then continue to Pokhara or a trek depending on season, time and fitness.

The main travel seasons are spring and autumn, when mountain views are clearer and trekking conditions are generally more stable. Winter can be excellent for Kathmandu, Pokhara and lower-altitude walks, while the summer monsoon is greener but less predictable for long treks. SnowLion Tours can combine Nepal with Tibet, Bhutan or Himalayan trekking arrangements, including airport transfers, local guides, permits and carefully paced itineraries.
